My Favourite Beauty Products of the Decade

The 2010’s was the decade that I went from being a teen to an adult, graduated high school AND college, started my first job in my career, and so much more. I also started this blog midway through the decade! The 2010’s had a lot of change for me and within the past 10 years I also really grasped my love for all things beauty. Sure I may not wear makeup everyday, but that does not mean I don’t love a glittery eye or the perfect red lip! Over the past decade I’ve gone from amateur beauty lover to self-proclaimed beauty blogger. It’s no secrete I’m not a professional at this, but I’ve definitely learned a handful of tips and tricks along my beauty journey and really got to know which products I think work the best and are worth it. So to end off this year, and more importantly this decade I give you my favourite beauty products I’ve used in the past decade.

*Disclaimer - Some these products came out before the decade, but I didn’t start using them until the 2010’s. :)

The base

From left to right:

  1. NYX HD Studio Fishing powder: I’ve been using this powder for a couple years now and I just love how it works for my oily skin. It’s a great powder for setting your makeup.

  2. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer: I honestly can’t remember when I started using this concealer because it’s been THAT long. It just works really well and I highly recommend it.

  3. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser: My favourite concealer for under the eyes!

  4. IT Cosmetics CC Cream: I haven’t used foundation since I started wearing this CC cream, it’s honestly the perfect base and is super comfortable to wear.

  5. MAC Studio Fix Foundation: If I was looking for a super high coverage foundation this is the one I’d grab. I’ve used it for years and it’s a solid formula.

Highlighter & Contour

From left to right:

  1. Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero Highlight Palette: This is what highlighter palette dreams are made of… enough said.

  2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Contour Kit: I really like the contour shades in the palette and the banana colour is also good for under the eyes.

  3. Tarte tarteist PRO Glow Highlight Contour Palette: This is a great all-in-one palette. It has a cream contour and two other highlighter shades in it, but I only really use the shades shown.

  4. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal: A staple in the highlighter world, opal is such a beautiful shade that looks great on anyone.

  5. Colour Pop Super Shock Highlighter in Part of Your World: This is a newer find, but one I am so happy I did find it! This highlighter creates such a beautiful natural glow.

Blush

From left to right:

  1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Holiday Blush Kit in Radiant: The palette has basically all the blush colours you’ll ever need. This is has been my go to for the past couple years.

  2. Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush: A early on favourite from this decade, but I still do love the ‘flushed’ look this blush gives.

  3. Kylie Cosmetics Blush in X Rated: I don’t reach for this blush as much since I really just use the ABH palette, but this colour is gorgeous and this is a great quality blush.

Eyes & brows

From left to right:

  1. Browluxe Eyebrow Pencil: From Winnipeg girl boss and CEO of Brows By G, this eyebrow pencil is just amazing. I don’t do my brows often because of my bangs, but when I do it’s usually with this pencil.

  2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer: Another tried and true product for the brows.

  3. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion: I’ve been using this eye shadow primer since I got my first eyeshadow palette.

  4. Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil: This is also a newer fav, but I’ve been searching for a good waterline pencil and this one has hit all the right notes!

  5. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk: Speaking of waterline, this white waterline look was such a trend in the early 2010’s. This pencil definitely served the purpose.

  6. NYX Wonder Pencil: For a more muted look in the waterline I now prefer this nude pencil.

  7. NYX Matte Liquid Eye Liner: The best liquid liner I’ve used and it’s also at an awesome price point!

  8. L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara: THE BEST MASCARA.

Eyeshadow

From left to right:

  1. Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Vol. 1 Palette: This is a very very new purchase of mine, but it has quickly become a holy grail item. I just can’t get over the quality of this palette and how gorgeous the shades are.

  2. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette: The FIRST ‘bought-at-Sephora’ eyeshadow palette I ever had, and also a staple item from the 2010’s.

  3. Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette: I think this was my second eyeshadow palette and one of my most loved for years. I still just love the mauvey pink tones of it.

  4. Tarte tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay Palette: The-all-you-need palette. This is the one I’d recommend to anyone. The colours are so easy to use, and it’s the best really.

Lips

From left to right:

  1. Milani Color Statement Lipliner in Nude: This is my go-to lip liner. If I don’t want to wear lipstick I’ll just put this on and maybe top it off with some gloss.

  2. MAC Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy: This may be one of the most iconic lipstick shades of the 2010’s. Also the MAC matte lipsticks are just really good and I wore them a LOT throughout the decade.

  3. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire & Ice: A classic lipstick that I totally fell in love with. I also love the shade Pink in the Afternoon.

  4. NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Starwoman: The PERFECT matte liquid lipstick in my opinion. Super light weight, comfortable and very very pigmented. I also love the shade Warm Leatherette.

  5. Manna Kadar Miracle Balm: I learned about this product late in the decade through A Year of Boxes, but wow… this balm is a complete GAME CHANGER. It is an essential for anyone with dry lips.

  6. Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip in Fussy: This is the ultimate lip gloss in my opinion. The shine, the formula, all of it is just so damn good. I’m showing the colour Fussy, but I also have it in Fenty Glow and Diamond Milk.

Face

From left to right:

  1. Garnier Micellar Water: Since I started using this when it came out, I haven’t switched back to anything else. Takes off all my makeup, even my stubborn waterproof mascara!

  2. Clinique Moisture Surge: A classic and the best moisturizer. Works so well for my skin.

  3. Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask: Sheet mask became the THING in the past decade, and this one from Glow Recipe is my absolute favourite.

  4. The Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Balancing Clay Mask: When I’m looking for a deeper skin treatment I always reach for this mask. It really rejuvenates the skin!

  5. The Body Shop Seaweed Cleanser and Exfoliator: From the same range of the clay mask, these products are my daily skin care.

Body

From left to right:

  1. Bath & Bodyworks Shower Gel: I’ve been using these shower gels for years and they are my absolute favourite. Not only do they leave your skin feeling soft, but they come in the best range of scents.

  2. Bath & Bodyworks Ultra Sheer Body Cream: Super moisturizing and just like the shower gels the scents are the best.

  3. Sol de Janerio Glowmotions in Copacabana Bronze: This is my favourite summer time product. It adds the perfect bronzey glow!

Hair

From left to right:

  1. Tresemme Tres Two Extra Hold Hair Spray: Nothing too fancy here just a good ole hair spray that has done the job for years!

  2. Tresemme Between Washes Volumizing Dry Shampoo: This might be my most used product since I literally don’t go any where with out putting some dry shampoo in!

  3. Living Proof Color Care Whipped Glaze: This is perfect for keeping my hair the right tone.

  4. L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil: Adds a beautiful shine to your hair and smells so good.

  5. AVEDA Shampure Dry Shampoo: Another dry shampoo favourite!

Perfumes

From left to right:

  1. Marc Jacobs Decadence: With ‘Decade’ in the name this scent is sure to last the test of time. This is my signature scent I wear everyday.

  2. Marc Jacobs Eau So Fresh: Before I fell in love with Decadance this was my fragrance of choice. I still do love the fresh and floral scent.

And just like that my last post of the year comes to an end. Comment below if you use any of the products I mentioned and if not, what are your favourite beauty products from the past decade.
