Five Staple Bag Styles
First off I'd like to wish all my fellow Canadians a wonderful Canada Day. It's a special birthday for Canada this year, the big 1-5-0! And to my American friend happy (early) Fourth of July! Now lets get to the post.
Anyone who knows me knows I'm a sucker for a bag. I love collecting different styles, sizes and coloured handbags. So today, I've rounded up my top five staple styles that every bag lover needs to have in their collection.
1. Working Tote
This is the bag I use from 9-5, Monday to Friday. What I love about using a tote bag for work is that it literally carries so much, and it's not like I have to walk around with it on my arm all day. The tote from Michael Kors is a standard and I also love that it has a laptop sleeve in the centre.
How to style: Keep it classic, a blazer and pencil skirt will complete this smart look.
2. Cross-Body
This little number from Aldo is my go-to shopping purse. I'm a big fan of using cross-body bags when needing to wear it all day and the smaller size of this is perfect for the essentials: my wallet, keys, and phone.
How to style: Pair this bag with a long maxi dress and jean jacket for a casual and comfortable look.
3. Statement Piece
When it comes to a conversation piece this lace-like detailed bag is the perfect starter. I can't even count the number of times I've received compliments on this bag. And the best part it was only $40 from Call it Spring.
How to style: Denim jeans, plain off-the-shoulder top, and some cute sandals. Let the bag do the talking!
4. Evening
Finding the perfect clutch can sometime be a challenge. What I love about this one from Henri Bendel is that I can totally dress it up or down, which makes it a great investment bag.
How to style: A pretty black cocktail dress and some ankle strapped heels will compliment this clutch.
5. Structured
I think it's key to have a great structured bag in your collection. This Michael Kors one is my newest handbag, and I'm obsessed with the fact it's ALL rose gold (including the hardware).
How to style: Leather pants, a graphic tee, and some heeled booties will edge up this structured purse.
