Products Actually Worth the Hype

In the age of over consumption from social media it can be hard to block out the noise unless you truly disconnect. While it can be tempting to jump on the latest and greatest new item, I’ve been working on my mindful shopping to help make sure I’m buying things that I actually need or use.

With that being said as I’ve needed to replenish or get something new these are the items that I’ve seen all over my feeds that I actually think are worth the hype.

  1. The Five Minute Journal - I’ve been using the the Five Minute Journal almost* daily since mid January of 2022 and I truly credit it for helping to change my life. I had always been skeptical before if it would help at all, but the mind shift of practicing gratitude has been one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. While it can be hard some days to pull out the positives, no matter how big or small it’s such a helpful tool for getting your day started and ended on the right foot. 2+ years later and I completely swear by it.

  2. Summer Friday’s Lip Butter Balm - This was a product I took a really long time to pull the trigger on buying. I love tube lip balm and have gone through a few different ones now from MAC, Biossance, and more. But the Summer Friday’s one is my favourite. I love the Vanilla Beige one, the gloss from it last SO long, and my favourite ‘flavour’ is the Sweet Mint. If you’re in the market to spend a bit more on a lip balm then I would definitely recommend it.

  3. Touchland Hand Sanitizer - Okay before I get into why I’m a fan of this TikTok/Reels star product, if you are a Canadian girlie like me I don’t think you can buy it in Canada. I’ve had to purchase it in the states. But why do I love this product, not only is the spray a innovative packaging choice and the scents smell incredible this is one of the only hand sanitizers I’ve found that doesn’t actually dry my hands out. My favourite scent is the lavender one.

  4. Beis Weekender Bag - It’s been 3 years since I got my Beis Weekender Bag and it still looks as incredible as it did day one. From countless trips to the lake and on weekend road trips, I’ve used this bag quite a lot. It’s the absolute perfect bag for a few day trip and if you pack smart enough you could totally use this for a longer trip. I have the one in beige and it still looks brand new. If you need a duffle, overnight/weekend bag don’t look any further than this one. It’s an absolute favourite of mine.

  5. Shark Beauty Flexstyle - While the Dyson Airwrap has been a popular choice for years now, the Shark Beauty Flexstyle has been coming up as a cheaper (still pricy, but cheaper) alternative to the Airwrap for a while now. After three of my friends absolutely swore by it and even getting to try just the blow dryer part which is - insane and worth it just for that - I made the leap during the Sephora 20% off sale to get it for myself. Like I said the blow dryer is insane, and for someone with really thick hair this drys my hair much quicker than a normal hair dryer, and as for the actual styling part? SO GOOD. I love the air curling and find that it gives my hair such good volume. The curls will come out big at the start but they will relax at lot and for me just leaves my hair with a nice blow out look. I’m such a fan of this tool!
