Summertime Coral Makeup Tutorial
It may only be June 3, but after the high of 35°C (95°F) here in Winnipeg yesterday, I think it's safe to say it's basically summertime. For me summer is the one time of year my wardrobe actually has some real colours in it, and this year peach, coral, and orange are my colours of choice.
The other day I found an adorable tea-length coral dress at Old Navy (for only $24!!!!), and it inspired me to create a makeup look to match. I pulled out my go-to summer lipstick, Coral Bliss from MAC, and started creating the look I'm going to teach you today.
If it wasn't clear by the title, this look is definitely going to be a summertime staple of mine this year. What I love about the colour coral is it's still natural looking, but adds the pop of colour most people love during these warm months.
Now into the tutorial!
Step 1: Start off with a natural base and keep your foundation light. If your foundation is full coverage, try using a damp beauty sponge to achieve lighter coverage.
Step 2: Using the Tarteist Pro Palette, take the shade 'Classic' and dust it across your primed eyelids. Then use the colour 'Innocent' and blend that into the crease. After, take 'Whimsy' and darken up the crease and lightly blend onto the lid.
Step 3: Spray a small flat eyeshadow brush with a makeup spray like Mac Fix +. Then take one of the palette's four duo-chrome shadows, 'Minx', and apply it onto the outer-half of your eyelids.
Step 4: Use the stila Magnificent Metal liquid eyeshadow in 'Rose Gold Retro' and apply this on the inner two-thirds of your eyelid, blending into the 'Minx' shadow.
Step 5: On a smudge brush apply 'Whimsy' underneath your eye. And finish off the eye look with a coat of mascara on your top and bottom lashes.
Step 6: Next apply some bronzer and peach blush. Add a peach highlighter to the high-points of your face, then finish off with a coral lipstick. That's it!
