Battle of the Liquid Lipsticks

When it comes to my favourite type of lip product a liquid lipstick always takes the top spot. Over the past couple years, these lipsticks have been dominating in the makeup world. And my pure lack of will power is blatantly obvious when you look at my collection. Yes, it's not massive, but no girl needs as many as I have. *Cue the monkey covering its eyes emoji*

That being said, I continue to buy them and wear them almost everyday. I haven't tried every brand out there, but I have tried quite a few of the major hyped ones, and after testing them all out I've definitely discovered what I like and dislike about them.

In general these products can be on the pricier side and it can be challenging to decide which one to buy. I've done a little analysis on each type I've tried, and I'm going to share my overall thoughts on each product. And maybe this will help you in deciding which one is right for you.

To the battle!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick | $24 | Shade: Bow n' Arrow

What I like: First off, the pigmentation with this liquid lipstick is beautiful, I love how I don't have to apply multiple layers. It's drying, but it's still fairly comfortable to wear.

What I dislike: It might be called "everlasting", but for me I find that this lipstick will flake off pretty quickly. It isn't a lot a one time, but it's enough for me to notice.

Rating: 3.5/5

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams | $9 |

Shades

What I like: The price is right with these and the colour selection is incredible. They are also very comfy on the lips.

What I dislike: Even more so than the Kat Von D ones, these are NOT long lasting.

Rating: 3.5/5

Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick | $17 | Shades: Love Bite, Ginger, Candy K, 22, Koko K

What I like: The colour selection is on point, and for the most part these last a couple hours. Also they smell SO good.

What I dislike: I find that these are not that pigmented, and they do not work well if you have to layer them up. Also, after a couple hours they start to come off in the center of the lips and they are VERY drying.

Rating: 3/5

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick | $26 | Shade: Trophy Wife

What I like: I can't get over how beautifully these glide on and the formula is so easy to work with. The colours are exactly my type, but the best part about these, is that they are so comfortable and stay on!

What I dislike: Not much at all, I wish they were cheaper!

Rating: 4.5/5

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick | $26 | Shade: Pure Hollywood, Craft

What I like: The colours I have are simply gorgeous, and they are fairly pigmented. They also last long.

What I dislike: These have to be the most drying liquid lipsticks I've tried. Which is why I hardly wear them.

Rating: 2.5/5

Kylie Cosmetics Velvet Liquid Lipstick | $27 (includes lip liner) | Shade: Charm

What I like: This formula is a game changer for Kylie, I prefer it WAY more than the original mattes. It's long wear, and very comfortable since it doesn't dry completely down.

What I dislike: It can be a bit less pigmented, but it does build up nice.

Rating: 4/5

Kylie Cosmetics Crème Liquid Lipstick | $45 (set of 4) | Shades: Kim, Kimberly, Kimmie, Kiki

What I like: I love that these are not matte and have a natural shine to them. The formula is very hydrating, and comfy to wear. Plus, just look at those shades! *insert heart eye emoji*

What I dislike: They come off very easily and will transfer. And there's no yummy cupcake scent.

Rating: 4/5

And the winner is.... Huda Beauty! This liquid lipstick is the one I grab for the most, not only do I LOVE the colour, but the formula is top-notch!

There's my review on the seven types of liquid lipsticks I've tried and tested. Have you tried any of these types? If so, comment below and let me know which one is your favourite and why.
